A portable ventilator on rent from Eldrly costs ₹35,000 a month, installed and set to the treating hospital’s parameters. Home ventilation is for a patient whose condition is stable but whose breathing needs mechanical support long-term — and it is only safe with a trained nurse and a family who have been taught the alarms, the suction and the backup plan. Eldrly asks that a nursing plan is in place before a ventilator is delivered.

What has to be in place first
- A discharge plan from the treating hospital with the ventilator settings in writing.
- A nursing plan: a nurse trained in ventilated patients visiting regularly, and a caregiver taught the basics.
- Backup power — an inverter or UPS sized for the ventilator, and the machine’s own battery charged.
- A backup breathing method the family has practised (bag-valve mask), and the emergency number by the bed.
- A suction machine and, usually, an oxygen concentrator alongside.
What Eldrly does and does not do
Eldrly delivers, installs to the written settings, and demonstrates. It does not change settings; that is the treating doctor’s decision. It does not provide ICU-level medical cover at home. In an emergency, call 112 or go to hospital.
Delivery, installation and return
Rental is monthly. The equipment is delivered to the address, installed and demonstrated, and collected when the rental ends. Everything is cleaned and checked between rentals. The rental price excludes consumables — masks, tubing, filters, sheets — which are billed as used.
