A doctor’s visit at home, on a monthly plan
Eldrly plans from ₹33,000 a month include a monthly quota of doctor visits at home, alongside nurse visits and a daily caregiver. A home visit is for the elderly patient who cannot easily travel: a check-up, a review of medicines, a post-discharge follow-up, a look at a problem before it becomes a hospital trip. It is not an emergency service.

What a home doctor visit covers
A general physician’s consultation, at the bedside, with the caregiver’s daily notes and the nurse’s readings to hand.
- Routine geriatric check-up: blood pressure, sugar, weight, mobility, mood.
- Review of every medicine being taken, and of the ones that clash.
- Post-hospital follow-up in the first weeks after discharge.
- Assessment of a new symptom and a decision on whether hospital care is needed.
- A written note for the family and for the treating specialist.
How visits are scheduled
Doctor visits are a monthly quota. The family and the doctor agree the date; the doctor presses "On my way" in the app and the visit starts once the family reads out the 4-digit PIN. Unused visits do not roll over, so match the plan to the need: two visits a month for a stable patient, more in the weeks after a discharge.
When not to wait for a home visit
Chest pain, breathlessness, a fall with a head injury, sudden weakness or confusion, a fever that will not break — these are hospital problems. Call 112, or 108 for an ambulance in many states. A home visit is for what can wait for an appointment.
Who the doctors are
Every doctor proves their identity through DigiLocker and has their registration checked before approval. Doctors are matched near the patient’s address, and the same doctor is offered the follow-up visits wherever possible so the record is one person’s.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a doctor home visit cost?
Visits are part of a monthly plan starting at ₹33,000, which also includes nurse visits and a 12-hour caregiver. Single visits are not sold separately.
Can the doctor prescribe medicines at home?
Yes. The visiting doctor is a registered practitioner and writes a prescription where one is needed.
Is a specialist available?
Home visits are by general physicians. A specialist referral is written when the doctor thinks one is needed.
How soon can a doctor come?
Visits are arranged by agreement within the month, not on demand. For anything urgent, go to a hospital or call 112.
